With the help of the designer LUCAS MUÑOZ and a tool, we had to change the FUNCTION of the tool.
The knife, I thought: "Ok, the main use of the knife is to cut, separate materials, forms and destroy them. Let's start to create with it instead".
And that's how "COHORTE" began.
As everything had to do with VIOLENT actions but at the same time with the CREATION, I used three different knives to paint three different assassins in history.
#1, BRUTUS. He was known as a very kind and peaceful person. But he took part in a conspiracy and killed Julio César. Days after, he killed himself because of the guilt he felt. That's why I used a the Butter knife. The round forms it leaves in the paper giving Brutus a more calm form. I also wanted it to look more or less as the bust of him.
#2, JACK THE RIPPER. He had cold blood running through his veins. He didn't have pity for any of the crimes he committed. He laughed at everyone and never was caught. So I personalised him with a Butcher Knife because it has a movement just like him: cold and piercing. Also, as we never knew who was him, I wanted to make it look as a person but not a specific face but more as a drawing.
#3, CHARLES MANSON. The leader of the Family Manson was the opposite. He never denied or regretted anything, we always knew his face and all he did. To represent all his madness, I took the Sawing Knife and its pointing blade.
